Alexander King Nature Preserve

This 24-acre wooded lot overlooking the Octoraro Creek in Little Britain Township is one of the easternmost properties of the Lancaster County Conservancy.

It is open for in-season hunting so visitors are advised to wear brightly colored clothing.

The available cover and food sources make the area attractive to more than 50 species of birds. There also are a variety of geologic rock types.

This site is also one of six LCC sites with geocaching available. Geocaching uses a handheld global positioning system to introduce people to nature.

The Lancaster County Conservancy is the first non-profit land trust in the world to actively participate in geocaching. Go to www.lancastercountyconservancy.org for more information.

Restrictions: Pets must be leashed. No bikes, alcohol, fishing, horses, vehicles, camping or fires.
