Central Market House
Sample nature’s bounty in York’s Central Market House where farmers have gathered to sell their goods at market since 1888. In addition to the fresh, locally grown produce, take a bite out of our area’s regional specialties such as red-beet eggs, shoo-fly pie, chow chow and scrapple. Or, try local meats, fish and cheeses and enjoy holiday and seasonal specialties. The unusual L-shaped, neo-Romanesque-style, brick building has five towers and was designed by York architect J.A. Dempwolf. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
